Bruce Lee Reflects On Himself

As Bruce said, the Martial Arts are a form of self-knowledge. So how well did Bruce Lee come to know himself?

‘I’m not the type of guy who can sit in the office doing the same routine day in and day out. I have to do something creative and interesting. I don’t want to do anything halfway, it has to be perfect. I feel that I want to be the best martial artist. Not just for the sake of my movies, but because this is my interest.’

‘I am not one of those guys who can brush people off. I feel that if I can take just a second and make someone happy, why not do it now.’

‘I don’t like to wear stuffy clothes and be at places where everyone is trying to impress each other.’

‘I don’t believe in pure luck. You have to create your own luck. You have to be aware of the opportunities around you and take advantage of them. Some guys may not believe it, but I spent hours perfecting whatever I did.’

‘I never believe the word star. That’s an illusion, man, something the public calls YOU when you become famous. It’s very easy to be blinded by all these happenings. Everybody comes up to you as Mr Lee when you have long hair and they’ll say “Hey man, that’s the In Thing”, but if you have no name they’ll say “Look at the disgusting juvenile delinquent”.’
